4. Calculating Laytime for a single Port Call
Once you have created a port for your claim, you can edit the laytime calculator by clicking on the pencil icon next to the port that you have created.
- First, we need to define when laytime start and ends.
- In the video's example, on the charter party, there is a notice time of 6 hrs. We will create a descriptive event to handle that (this descriptive event functions as an anchor to other events):
- On the left top corner, you can ‘Add descriptive event’ by simply clicking on the icon.
- Allocate a name to the event.
- Select a date & time at which the laytime expires.
- In the video's example, it will be (NOR Tendered 05:00 + 6hr) = 19 June 11:00.
- Click on 'Create'. The new event will be added to the calculator.
- To delete an event, simply click on the bin icon next to the event.
- In the video's example, on the charter party, there is a notice time of 6 hrs. We will create a descriptive event to handle that (this descriptive event functions as an anchor to other events):
- Select the events ranges to calculate the Laytime.
- In the video, we calculate until final hoses were disconnected.
- The (+) icons on the left-hand side of each event will add time to the laytime calculator.
- A total time will be shown in green on the left-hand side of the screen.
- To subtract events from the laytime, click on the (-) icon on the right-hand side of the event. These events' time will be shown in red, and deducted from the initial time that has been calculated (in green).
- A total time will be shown (in red) on the right-hand side of the screen.
- The 'Factor':
- If a duration is not to be counting for a 100%, for example, in the case of shared waiting time, you can prorate by adjusting the Factor percentage manually.
- To deselect events that have been chosen, simply click on the (x) next to the ‘factor’ icon on each side of the screen.
- Select ‘Save & Close’.
5. Exporting a demurrage calculation file
