Feature Area: Master Data / Settings
Impact: All users who interact with cargo selection across claims, port calls, and VMS
Overview
Voyager now supports company-specific cargo configuration as part of the new Master Data framework. Each company can control which cargoes appear in their dropdown menus and apply their own naming and density overrides — without affecting other companies on the platform.
This is the first release in the larger Master Data overhaul. Vessel and port master data will come in future releases.
What This Means for Your Company
Filtered cargo lists Only cargoes assigned to your company will appear in dropdown menus across the platform — in claims, port calls, VMS, and all other areas that reference cargo. If your team only works with a specific set of cargo types, that's all you'll see.
Custom naming Each company can override the display name of any cargo. If your company refers to "Fuel Oil" by an internal material code or a different commercial name, you can configure that override and it will appear everywhere that cargo is displayed within your context.
Custom density If your company uses the same cargo material but with a different density value, this can be overridden per company without affecting the master record.
How It Works in Shared Voyages
In collaborative contexts — such as a voyage shared between two companies — cargo names are displayed based on the voyage owner's configuration. Both participants see the cargo name as defined by the company that owns the voyage.
Getting Started
All existing cargoes have been assigned to all companies as part of the initial migration — no cargoes will disappear from your existing data or workflows.
From here, your Voyager administrator can:
Navigate to Master Data → Cargoes
Review the cargo list and assign or unassign cargoes per company as needed
Add company-specific name or density overrides where required
